day 30…and that’s a wrap!

happy thanksgiving to my american friends… i hope you enjoyed a most joy filled day… full of love, hope and gratitude. 

here is my final “daily” deSign.  it’s a photo of the prairie grass growing right out behind our house.  it’s  mixed with textures….and i think it qualifies as a daily deSign. 

 

i didn’t quite manage to pull off a daily painting.  and i really slacked off about day 20. :) however, i’m happy i committed to the challenge, and did the best i could.  i just recently received a large request from my publisher, so if all goes as planned i will be creating 2 paintings a day for the next week or 2.  i am not complaining… not at all! 

i’ve also been cooking up something fun and exciting.  i hope to share it here soon.  stay tune…

day 29 has almost come and gone.

my dear blogging friends,

it’s friday, already!  and it’s november 20th.  my oh my the time is slipping away so quickly.  i wish this one armed clock could stop the time for just a little while… slow things down.  ya know?  but i suppose that only happens in the movies.  sigh….

i was sure that i would have 2 designs for you today.  but i’m afraid, i only have one.  on the up side… my house is looking pretty darn sparkly.  so it was worth the time away from the studio.  nothing like a clean house to make a girl smile!  perhaps tomorrow will allow me a little more time to create. 

anyhow, here is day 29.  i wish i was half as cool as this girl.  lately i’ve been living in sweats and hoodies.  i haven’t worn make up more than once a week for months. yikes… (not that i wear much on the best of days… haha)

i was trying to think of name for this cool cat… and izzy came to mind.  whatchya think?

oh dear, it’s almost tomorrow…. already?

i spent far too much time in the sun today.  but gosh it was so beautiful again! the sun was shining, the air was fresh and clean… 

 

and sophie was having so much fun.  it turns out she loves the camera.  :) isn’t she soo gosh darn cute? 

 

i did work on another my girl sketch, but i ran out of time.  so i hope to post it and maybe one more tomorrow.

what’s cooking? & day 28

 

hi all,

what’s on your menu tonight?  i’ve got nothing,  but some antique spice tins, some milk and ummm, a cookbook!  seriously, i’m done with cooking!  done, i say!  done!  actually, that’s a fib…. it’s just for today, because the boys are away so mama can play.. in the studio, right thru dinner hour.  and best part, no dirty dishes! 

here’s my day 28 deSign.  something new and fun.  i’m working on a series of these “my girl” deSigns.  i know they are different than what you are used to seeing from me.  but one thing i know for sure ~ you gotta keep changing things up

27 and counting and a little of this and that

hello all my blogging friends.  i hope that you had a most fabulous day!  mine seemed to zip by so darn quickly. 

it was so gorgeous again today.  i went to the trail and i was absolutely sweaty by the time i was done.  and it’s november 17th.  it’s crazy!  crazy awesome.  :)

couple of things…

i have posted a few offerings in my etsy shop.  i’d love for you to pop by for a peek.  i have a couple of my daily deSigns for sale along with some of my photo prints.  I will be adding more later this week.

ummm, day 26 i believe?

hi there, and happy monday.

i love mondays.  they are full of possibilities and a fresh starts.  and so far my monday of november 16th has been amazing. 

here is my day 26 deSign.  i painted this on water color paper.  i love, LOVE water color paper.  i used acrylics, pastels, charcoal, paper, ink and stamps to complete this piece.

oh dear…..where have i been?

has it really been a week since i posted? i’m sorry i fell off the face of blog land.  i’ve been working on some exciting stuff and i had to step back and pour myself into it this week.  it’s been really crazy.  i can’t wait to share with you all!  i do have a few new creations, that i hope to post on monday.  i believe i am at day 26.

in the meantime, here’s a simple piece of autumn.  i captured this today on andy’s beloved trail.  isn’t  autumn beautiful?  i can’t believe it’s november 12th.  the weather has been amazing.

nature walk

i hope this sunday afternoon finds you well.  i just came back from a beautiful hike on the trail.  my happy place.  i took my camera along today.  i wanted to capture some photos of the trail before the snow falls. 

here is one of my favourite spots on the trail.  because i hike for the exercise i don’t actually stop and sit on this bench.  but i really should take the time and steal a few moments, now and then.  isn’t it peaceful looking?

The trains in this shot are a fair distance from the trail, but my zoom lens captured them quite nicely.  when you drive into our little town, they are one of the first things you will see.

i thought these berries were quite lovely…. they seem to be hanging onto fall.  just like we all our around here.  it will be interesting to capture them when winter strikes.

and here is a favourite spot of andy’s in the summer time.  by the way, andy is having a rough weekend.  his darn back end is giving him grief.  so he was unable to share the trail with me today.  poor fellow. 

now this photo is just interesting to me.  nothing really pretty about it.  but it speaks to me. the town put several posts and chains up to keep the atv’s off the trail, which i very much appreciate. 

well my friends…. that’s all for now.  i must get some painting done.
